Chase County Jail

Leisure Time

Interview with Bobby

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Bobby: Cards, board games, chess, TV, books

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce?
Bobby: The guards controlled the TV

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Bobby: I gained weight. There was plenty of room to exercise, or walk. Now weight rooms or anything like that though.

JM: How often did you get to go outside?
Bobby: Once a day.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Bobby: Yes. Non-denominational. I think they were held in the law library.
